Function:

The Climate Protection Action Committee (CPAC) is a volunteer group whose mission is to develop and advocate effective strategies to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to climate change, conserve natural resources and otherwise protect the environment at a City level, while also fostering an improved quality of life for the citizens of the City of Columbia.

The purpose of CPAC is to recommend and oversee the development and implementation of mission-based programs and projects within the City of Columbia.  Click here for much more information about CPAC.

By-Laws:

Composition:

There are seven voting appointees; the Mayor and City Council each appoint one member. There are also eight
non-voting appointments, including one to be designated by the Public Works Department. Terms of office for both voting and non-voting appointment is three years with up to one reappointment.

Meetings:

Presently, two meetings are held each month: a formal meeting on the first Tuesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. and a working meeting on the third Tuesday of each month, also at 8:30 a.m.
